Job purpose
Business Development Sales Lead will lead growth across our Central Government and Defence sectors.
This role is critical to maintaining our trusted position with current customers and partners, and to expand our footprint through identifying new opportunities, building strong relationships, and driving the end-to-end sales process: from pipeline development to bid support and contract win.
Key responsibilities
- Own the allocated sales target
- Develop and manage pipeline of opportunities, maintaining accurate sales forecasts and status update
- Implement Key Account Management, collaborating internally to align sector strategies with key account plans and nurture long-term relationships with key government and defence stakeholders, including senior civil servants, military leaders, and procurement
authorities - Identify and qualify new business opportunities through market intelligence,
networking, and industry events - Shape and influence customer requirements early in the procurement cycle to position
the company favourably - Lead or support the development of bids and proposals, ensuring compliance,
compelling value propositions, and timely delivery - Collaborate with internal teams, including delivery, and commercial functions to create
tailored solutions that meet client needs - Support wider growth and business initiatives as required
- Represent the company at relevant industry events, trade shows, and conferences
- Ability to get the job done within our culture and values.
- Travel to customer and office locations across the UK.
Skill and experience
- Proven track record in public sector business development, a strong understanding of government procurement processes, and the ability to work cross-functionally with technical, delivery, and commercial teams to drive success
- Experience in ICT infrastructure and communications
- Proven track record as an industry expert with strong buyer relationships
- Successful history of developing, forecasting, and executing growth pipelines
- Experience in business development, account management, and driving revenue growth through cross-selling and upselling
- Exceptional networking, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to balance priorities and expectations across multiple teams
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
Education / Qualifications
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
- ITIL is highly desirable but not essential

- Must have full UK driving licence
- Must be able to gain BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance
- Must be able to gain SC (Security Check) clearance as standard along with any relevant
